The Assistant Sales Manager is a floor-first leadership role responsible for driving daily sales performance, supporting the sales team in real time, and ensuring seamless store execution through effective scheduling, coverage, and operational flow.

This role helps translate business priorities into daily floor action, ensuring the team is supported, engaged, and consistently delivering a high-energy, hospitality-led sales experience.

You are visible on the floor, decisive in the moment, and actively shaping the rhythm of the store.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Floor Direction

  • Drive daily sales execution and support performance targets

  • Direct floor activity in real time to maximize opportunities and conversion

  • Maintain a strong presence and responsiveness during peak traffic

  • Coach active selling through live feedback and in-the-moment guidance

  • Step into selling to sustain flow and service levels

  • Reinforce a proactive, hospitality-led sales culture

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Deliver real-time coaching to improve selling confidence and output

  • Lead by example in client engagement and product storytelling

  • Support onboarding and training with the leadership team

  • Maintain clear communication, accountability, and team alignment

  • Build a high-energy, performance-focused floor culture

Scheduling & Floor Flow

  • Build schedules aligned to traffic and business needs

  • Ensure consistent coverage across departments

  • Adjust staffing during peak periods, events, and seasonal moments

  • Monitor attendance, readiness, and floor execution

  • Support seasonal and high-volume planning

Client Experience

  • Ensure every client receives an elevated, guided experience

  • Support associates in confident engagement and selling

  • Resolve client issues with ownership and professionalism

  • Maintain consistent hospitality standards

  • Reinforce The Cross Living brand experience across all touchpoints

Operations & Store Standards

  • Oversee floor readiness and presentation

  • Support cash desk, gift wrap, and service flow during peak periods

  • Maintain product flow, replenishment, and visibility

  • Ensure clean, organized, and visually consistent store standards

  • Support opening and closing procedures

Sales Performance & Communication

  • Track daily and weekly performance against targets

  • Share insights with the Sales Leadership team

  • Identify gaps in conversion, coverage, and engagement

  • Maintain awareness of key sales and performance drivers

  • Lead daily touch base meetings with the sales team

  • Participate in sales meetings and full team meetings

  • Ensure strong client-facing communication standards to maximize sales opportunities
