Jani Guzy Original Art

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jani began her painting career in 1962, launching a lifelong exploration of colour, place, and
emotional resonance through visual expression. Over the decades, her work has evolved while
remaining grounded in a deep commitment to painterly practice and intuitive mark-making.
Her paintings are held in private collections in Vancouver, Toronto, the United States, England,
Australia, and Italy. From 2001 to 2011, Jani lived and worked in Tuscany, Italy, where the region's
landscape, light, and art history profoundly influenced her palette and spatial sensibility.

Jani has presented major exhibitions at the Vancouver Ferry Building and the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
In addition to her studio practice, Jani contributed significantly to arts education as a teacher at the
Ontario College of Art, mentoring emerging artists and fostering a disciplined yet exploratory
approach to painting. Now based in West Vancouver, Jani continues to paint, drawing on
decades of experience and a life shaped by travel, teaching, and sustained artistic inquiry.
